On the FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH, the HKWC has a reading group. These are held at either Culture Club (15 Elgin Street) or Varga Lounge (36 Staunton Street) in SoHO from 7.30pm till late. The idea is that you bring along a piece, read it to a sympathetic audience of fellow members, and they will offer friendly and constructive criticism. You should read for no more than four or five minutes. If you’d like feedback on a longer piece, print it out and leave some copies – but you must be prepared to take some if yours are taken!
Hang out after the reading to make friends, explore ideas, exchange tips and form critique groups. Keep an eye on the Events section for the venue of the upcoming FTRG!
