The Hong Kong Writers Circle conducts writing workshops throughout the year to enhance the skills of budding writers and to provide a platform for experienced ones to share their secrets. Workshops are available to both members and non-members, with members receiving a discount on the ticket price. They are usually conducted by member volunteers but guest speakers have also been called upon for their expertise. These workshops focus on a specific topic e.g. writing memoir or being a good critic, and often involve a range of exercises and activities that any writer at any level can benefit from. These guided exercises assist with honing a particular skill or serve to expose writers to different methods that they may or may not have tried before. Light refreshments are usually available and these events double up as a great way to meet fellow writers!
